TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT

HIT Devices' heating head does not require a thermocouple or thermistor as it has a capability to measure the temperature of heating head substrate while in operation in real-time with good time response.
The following samples are typical temperature measuring methods.

Temperature Measuring Method Using Main Heating Element

Temp E-1
Connect the sensing resistor Rs1 in series with the main heating element R1 for measurement.
The temperature coefficient of resistance for the main heating element R1 is "+ 0.15%/°C" and the temperature while being heated can be found by measuring the voltage across the resistor Rs1.

    R1 =Rs1 x ( Drive Voltage - Vs1 ) / Vs1

Therefore, the temperature change in °C = % change of R1 / 0.15

Temperature Measuring Method Using Temperature Sensing Element

Temp E-2
Connect the sensing resistor Rs2 in series with the temperature sensing element R2 for measurement.
The temperature coefficient of resistance for the sensing element R2 is "+ 0.15%/°C" and the temperature while being heated can be found by measuring the voltage across the resistor R2.

    R2 =Rs2 x V2 / (Measuring Voltage - V2)

Therefore, the temperature change in °C = % change of R2 / 0.15
