HIT Devices' heating head does not require a thermocouple or thermistor
as it has a capability to measure the temperature of heating head substrate
while in operation in real-time with good time response.
The following samples are typical temperature measuring methods.
Temperature Measuring Method Using Main Heating Element
Connect the sensing resistor Rs1 in series with the main heating element
R1 for measurement.
The temperature coefficient of resistance for the main heating element
R1 is "+ 0.15%/°C" and the temperature while being heated
can be found by measuring the voltage across the resistor Rs1.
R1 =Rs1 x ( Drive Voltage - Vs1 ) / Vs1
Therefore, the temperature change in °C = % change of R1 / 0.15
Temperature Measuring Method Using Temperature Sensing Element
Connect the sensing resistor Rs2 in series with the temperature sensing
element R2 for measurement.
The temperature coefficient of resistance for the sensing element R2 is
"+ 0.15%/°C" and the temperature while being heated can be
found by measuring the voltage across the resistor R2.
R2 =Rs2 x V2 / (Measuring Voltage - V2)
Therefore, the temperature change in °C = % change of R2 / 0.15
